FAQ about online ski rental

There are lots of things to think about when preparing for a skiing holiday. That also goes for online equipment rental. We have put together some tips to make sure you get everything you need for a great time on the slopes quickly and efficiently.

Which branch is the right one?

Where are the Scheiber Sport shops?

All four Scheiber Sport ski rental centres are located next to the ski slopes by the main cable cars in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl:

  • Bottom station of Rosskarbahn / bottom station of Hohe Mut Bahn
  • Bottom station of Festkoglbahn
  • Bottom station of Hochgurglbahn 1
  • Bottom station of Große Karbahn

That means you will always pass a shop of Scheiber Sport on your way from the ski lift to your accommodation.

But which branch is the right one for your needs? One way to find out is to check out our website full of information about each of the four locations. Alternatively, give us a call or send us an e-mail – we will be happy to help. All of our rental locations are connected to one and the same electronic network, so it doesn’t actually matter where you hire your equipment. That means you can reserve your skis, snowboard, boots, etc. in any of our shops and pick them up in another branch if that is more convenient for you. Step one, done!

Which are the right boots?

There is no general answer to this question. Every foot is unique – and every ski boot has its own characteristics. There are differences in size, width, stiffness, shape and many more small details. That means finding the right ski boot is a very personal thing. That’s why we offer only categories for online booking and no specific models. All you need to do is choose the right category of boot for you and then come into one of our rental shops. Our team of friendly and experienced staff will then help you find exactly the right boot for your holiday.

Which are the right skis?

Tough question. The answer depends on what kind of skier you are and what kind of skiing you enjoy. Some customers have already tested different skis and know exactly what they want, while others simply choose a category and let our experts in store help them find the right ski for their needs.

Which category is the right one?

Many people make the mistake of thinking that the categories are connected to the person’s skiing ability. That is not the case. The differences in price between the different categories result from the materials used to make the ski. The better these materials are, the higher the performance of the ski (especially when it comes to edge grip and gliding properties). If you need help choosing the right ski you can also use the Scheiber Sport Ski Finder.

How much does it cost to hire ski poles?

Ski poles are provided free of charge to all customers who hire skis.

Which is the right helmet?

When it comes to helmets, all you need to do is choose the model you want to hire. No further information is needed. You can then try on a range of sizes in our shop and find the perfect one for you.

Trying out different models

Thanks to the fact that our four ski hire centres are located next to the slopes, customers can drop in whenever they want to swap their material and try out different models during their holiday. This can be done at all four of our Scheiber Sport rental locations.
